| In
these works hyper-masculine women march mechanically, unified in uniform,
feminine yet fierce, disciplined yet disordered, empowered yet systematically
submissive. Carrying out ritualistic acts, brutal instructions with dark
affection. Based on extreme acts of female political militancy and fundamental
nationalism these works investigate the sexual politics of power associated
with the female body. Confusing the boundaries between femininity and
masculinity, between individual identity and nationality and the body
and techno-scientific invention. |
